Shoreditch. It's like a wood sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under.

The Bollards of Redchurch Street

12 styles in less than 100 metres. Here's our montage in homage to a diverse urban environment and, who knows, it could be developed as a tourist classic a la 'Doors of Dublin'

Go See
They don't make 'em like this anymore. The concrete vaulted ceiling of Plymouth's City Market. Erected between 1957 and 1959, to a design of local architects, Walls and Pearn, it remains a bustling centre for shoppers. A little down at heel compared to its fancy neighbour Drakes Circus but well worth a visit.

Suspended glass sculpture
We like this glass sculpture by Simon Moss and Peter Layton of Peter Layton Associates. Its suspended within a double height space and is made up of mirror, polished steel and dichroic colour changing glass panels.

Lighting adds drama at night, throwing coloured reflections and shadows that illuminate the glass block walls of the stairwell.
Its a great way to add colour and light to large spaces which otherwise would look bare and unwelcoming. You need to consider the proportions so it sits nicely in the space and also what it will look like during different parts of the day. The use of lighting gives this a dynamic character which looks great both during daylight and at night.

1479 Plates
We managed to catch this wonderful wall of digitally printed plates which form '1479 Plates', an artwork completed by Chris Tipping, which was exhibited recently at The Octagan in Bath. It celebrates the Combe Down Stone Mines Stabilisation Project. Its a huge piece of work with layers of wonderful detail. Here's Chris explaining it all and there are more photos on our facebook page
The work was created in collaboration with Autonomatic - 3D Digital Research Cluster at University College Falmouth. They are involved with some amazing projects and research- But that's another story......Chris is a site specific artist and has worked within architectural and interior contexts where his work truly becomes an integrated part of the space.
