Standup routine. Rachel's diary. Day 13

The feeling of being left out continues.  I realise that I have no space to go other than my computer and after a morning of piling everything up around the computer I crack.  The computer and it's box needs to move along the desk to give me more table service.  This I think is the key, a combination of working spaces. The adjustable height desk allows this at a hefty price but me thinks thus could be irritating for those around if you go up and down throughout the day. A Jonny English moment.  So a desk that can provide both positions at the same time works for me, a worker who needs to step away from the screen throughout the day.  Incidentally I am typing this on my I pad, sitting down, shoulders stooped over feeling like the good old days......but actually not feeling good at all.

Standup routine. Rachel's diary Day 11

I'm starting to feel left out. I am the only one standing in the office, it hasn't caught on with the others yet. whilst i feel better physically emotionally I feel different from the others. I am the odd one out, the visionary you could say or the wierd one.  Interesting how standing up can make one feel socially unconventional.

Standup routine. Rachel's diary. Day 8

Spoke to another professional, a non practicing chiropractor, sitting all the time is not good for us,  weight gain, system slows down, as standing all the time is not good for us, shoes and posture become really important standing, that's my killer heels out then. When you stand you are more likely to lock your knees, slightly bent knees is better.  If pregnant it's not advisable to stand all the time.

Wall magic

Our neighbours have a rather fine and slightly larger than life painting
of Jodie Foster as Iris "Easy" Steensma in the cult classic Taxi Driver on their door.

As you can see we're somewhat blighted by tagging but it all adds to the gritty east end charm.  We'll enjoy it while we can because, as you know, someday a real rain will come to wash all this scum off the streets.

Round the corner in Club Row is this by Pablo Delgado which brings a little joy and humour to the streets.

Standup routine. Rachel's diary. Day 6

My body is getting into this, I'm not sure I can go back.  I'm combining standing at the computer with sitting at the desk for sketching.  My working style is varied in that I spend time at the computer, choosing materials, sketching ideas.

Standup routine. Rachel's diary. Day 4.

I've had a chiropracter in to look at my position.  He was enthusiastic with the change saying it was much better for me to go from standing to sitting throughout the day.

My keyboard and mouse is too high. funny, cos i thought you had to have your arms at 90 degrees, apparently not, and as we change the size of box that my keyboad sits on my shoulders feel so much better.  I need a stool for lower desk use.
